The Haval Chitu (Chinese: 哈弗赤兔; pinyin: Hāfú Chìtù; lit. 'red hare') is a compact crossover produced by Great Wall Motor under the Haval brand.
Overview[edit]
The Chitu was presented as the successor of the Haval F5 in February 2021.[2] Sales of the Chitu started two months later at Auto Shanghai in China two months later.[3]
The term Chitu is the Chinese word for "red hare" in English.[4] This makes the Chitu, after the Big Dog, the second model of the brand to be named after an animal.
Powertrain[edit]
The Haval Chitu is powered by two 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engines; a conventioal multipoint fuel injection turbo version for base model and a more powerful direct injection turbo version for the higher trims, both paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission. A hybrid variant was also introduced for the 2022 model year with a combination of 1.5-liter natural aspirated petrol engine and an electric motor, developing a combined power of 190 hp (142 kW; 193 PS).[5] Paired with a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
