The 1985–86 Harty Cup was the 66th staging of the Harty Cup since its establishment by the Munster Council of Gaelic Athletic Association in 1918.[1] The competition ran from 5 February to 23 March 1986.

North Monastery were the defending champions.[2][3][4]

The Harty Cup final was played on 23 March 1986 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, between North Monastery and Midleton CBS, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. North Monastery won the match by 1–12 to 0–09 to claim their 18th Harty Cup title overall and a second title in succession.[5]

North Monastery's Tony O'Keeffe was the top scorer with 1-23.
