GoldmyneTV is a Web-based content-driven entertainment platform focused on the best from the worlds of music, film, fashion, sports etc. Well known in Nigeria for its online presence. They are the producers of Top Television programs, Videowheels, Hitz on TV, Playground and also radio program Hitz on radio. These programs are shown on Silverbird, Galaxy TV, AIT Network, WAP TV.[1][2]

GoldMyneTV is a recipient of the City People Music Award for online TV of the year for 2016, 2018 and 2019.[3]

History[edit]

GoldMyneTv was launched in 2006 and is owned by Otunba Sesan Rufai. He started with a vision to create a platform that encapsulates all aspects of entertainment and hospitality. Goldmyne Entertainment which has been in existence for almost 2 decades has its network stretched into Content Production on TV, Radio and online, They have a total of 449,000 subscribers on YouTube, 2 million followers on Instagram and 61,000 followers on X(formerly Twitter) as at June 2024.

They also venture into the hospitality business, they established Limelite Hotel and Suites, Club Stardom and Goldmyne Music.[4]

Over the years GoldMyneTV has held several interview sessions of which the likes of Nedu, Pretty Mike, Reekado Banks, Ahmed Musa etc.[5][6][7]

Hitz On TV[edit]

HITZ is a society, lifestyle magazine TV show in concept and production, targeted at the young adult audience in the 18 - 45 years demography. The show is structured around regular news and events segments as well as daily lifestyle-themed segments, which generally suggest the tone for each day's show. The show is shown on Silverbird from Monday-Friday 3:30 pm daily, Galaxy TV Monday-Friday 1:30 pm daily and on AIT network on Wednesdays by 11 pm (WAT)

Videowheels[edit]

This is a music-oriented TV show, targeted at the Nigerian youth. The show is structured around music. This extends to events such as coverage of music concerts, features on music video and album reviews, behind-the-scenes footage of music video shoots etc. The show is shown on Wap TV on Thursdays by 3:30 pm (WAT)[8]

Playground[edit]

Playground, just like African Screen on Hitz, is a program centred on Nollywood and African film as an entirety. Playground features a spotlight on film practitioners, Location visits, Film Premieres, Film Trailers, Reviews etc. It is shown on WAP TV on Wednesdays at 3:30 pm.(WAT)[9]
