The 2024 general election is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 4 July 2024. 57 seats will be up for election in the West Midlands.

Background[edit]

2019 election in the West Midlands.

In the 2019 general election, the Conservatives won 44 seats in the region and Labour won 15.[2] The 2024 battleground in the West Midlands are seats based in Birmingham, Coventry and Sandwell.[3]

Electoral system[edit]

The election will be fought under the boundaries created by the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies.[4]

Constituencies[edit]

The West Midlands will elect 57 MPs, which is 2 less than the 59 elected in 2019 general election.[5]

Candidates[edit]

Candidates in bold were MPs at dissolution and represented a constituency in that parliamentary term which is succeeded at least partially by the constituency they're standing for election in at this election, in some cases not for the party they were aligned with when they were originally elected, and also includes those elected at by-elections in the preceding parliament. Italics denotes incumbent MPs not contesting the election.
