Gowavar Rural District (Persian: دهستان گوآور) is in Gowavar District of Gilan-e Gharb County, Kermanshah province, Iran.^[3] It is administered from the city of Sarmast.^[4]

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 8,699 in 1,782 households.^[5] There were 7,917 inhabitants in 1,860 households at the following census of 2011.^[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 6,801 in 1,921 households. The most populous of its 53 villages was Lateh Choqa Sayyadan, with 620 people.^[2]
