Voice of Islam

Voice of Islam is a commercial Islamic radio station run almost entirely by volunteers from across the globe. The radio station is broadcasting from the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London, the largest mosque in Western Europe. It was launched on the 7th of February 2016 after an inauguration by His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, to promote the teachings of Islam, those of peace, love and compassion for all of mankind. According to their website, "the purpose of the Voice of Islam is to inform people of the true teachings of Islam and to make it abundantly clear that Islam’s teachings perfectly conform and relate to the needs of every era and every person. God Willing, the listeners of this radio station will come to recognise that Islam’s teachings are of peace, love and compassion for all of mankind.”

Since its inception in 2016, it has been broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week on Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), initially in London and also in Manchester since July 2020. The radio is also accessed through their livestream on YouTube and through the stream on their official website.

They have had a range of guests on their shows from all sorts of backgrounds, reflecting the span of topics covered by their shows over the years. Although the station has an Islamic base, they have covered a wide range of affairs to showcase how Islam’s teachings are intertwined in today’s world. The station does not wish to jump on the latest bandwagon for ratings. It instead devotes its programming to reaching out and spreading the light and knowledge of Islam to the furthest corners of the globe.

The radio broadcasts, live as well as recorded content, cover a variety of subjects. These range from discussions on day-to-day news and history to matters of faiths, and sometimes poetry.
