Ana-Maria Bamberger est une dramaturge d'origine roumaine qui travaille à Paris, Londres, en Allemagne et en Roumanie.

Ses pièces sont jouées dans des théâtres et aux festivals dans plus de 15 pays.[1]

Originaire de Bucarest, Bamberger a étudié la médecine et travaillé dans la recherche médicale aux National Institutes of Health à Bethesda, Maryland (États-Unis) et au Centre Médical Universitaire de Hambourg (Allemagne).[2] Elle a commencé à écrire des pièces de théâtre en 2003. Elle a participé à la masterclass d'écriture dramatique de Stephen Jeffreys au Royal Court Theater à Londres (2011).[3] Elle a été dramaturge invitée et assistant professor à l'École supérieure des Arts et de la Culture de Paris, le campus parisien de l'Université de Kent.

Elle a noué une relation artistique congéniale avec l'actrice Olga Tudorache [ro], qui a joué dans ses premières pièces.

Le FOYER Theater Magazin, 3Sat, décrit ses pièces comme "psychologiquement subtiles, alliant humour et profondeur". La Süddeutsche Zeitung y voit "un sérieux profond derrière un saccage mordant".[4]
