Kumayl Alloo (Arabic: كُمَيْل أَللو; Urdu: كميل ألو) is a Tanzanian-American qāriʾ (reciter of the Qur'an).

Distinguished by his unique and melodious styles of recitation (qira'at), his achievements in recent Qur'an competitions have garnered both national and international acclaim.[1] In 2021, he won the Global Iqra Qur'an Recitation Competition, becoming the first Tanzanian-American to do so.[2][3]

Alloo is currently an undergraduate student at Columbia University and a researcher at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan, New York, with academic interests in cognitive neuroscience, neurodegeneration, and clinical medicine.[4][5]
