Diagnostikare is a healthcare technology company founded in 2019. The company offers a digital platform for virtual-first primary care in Mexico and Latin America.[1]

Overview[edit]

Diagnostikare was founded in 2019 by two brothers, Rafael López, an Information Systems Engineer, and Rodrigo López, a Medical Doctor. Since its inception, Dr. Rodrigo López has been serving as the Medical Director and Rafael López as the Executive Director of the company.[1] Diagnostikare has secured funding from several venture capital firms, such as StartUp Health, Builders VC, and Plug and Play Ventures.

The company provides a digital health platform for virtual-first primary care services, including health counseling, prescription fulfillment, lab test referrals, mental health support, and digital health empowerment tools through digital technology, artificial intelligence, and clinical service providers in Mexico and Latin America.[1][2][3] Diagnostikare collaborates with employers and engages channel partners such as insurance companies, insurance brokers, and other service providers to provide comprehensive healthcare services to their employees, clients, and users respectively. In 2020, Diagnostikare launched a free application, TestCovid19.mx, a free application that employs an algorithm to analyze user-provided information across physical, nutritional, and psychological dimensions for triaging COVID cases. This data processing facilitates telehealth visits with doctors and psychologists.[3]

Digital health contributions[edit]

In February 2021, Diagnostikare was part of a collaborative effort with more than 60 organizations, convened by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), to develop a new ANSI-accredited standard for trustworthy AI solutions in healthcare. [4] This standard, ANSI/CTA-2090, addresses Human Trust, Technical Trust, and Regulatory Trust to ensure reliable and secure AI applications in the healthcare sector.[5]

As a member of the Transform Health Coalition and FUNSALUD, Diagnostikare participated in the Digital Health Week in 2023. The event kicked off at the Chamber of Deputies in Mexico, focusing on the theme "Digital Health in Mexico: Progress and Challenges." Throughout the week, a wide range of topics were discussed, including the role of technology in achieving universal health access with quality and inclusion; physicians' perspectives on the digital health revolution; the application of artificial intelligence for early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer and diabetes; and the critical importance of personal data protection among other subjects.[6]

In the May–June 2023 issue (Vol. 10) of "Revista Ciencia Cofepris", a scientific magazine from COFEPRIS, Diagnostikare published a research article exploring the impact of digital health in corporate environments.[7]

In October 2023, Diagnostikare's CEO addressed the significance of preventative care and its impact on healthcare accessibility, emphasizing the role of technology in enhancing quality of life, on the TV show "Ahora / Futuro. México y el mundo." This program, aired on ADN40 and produced by TV Azteca, was conducted by Enrique de la Madrid Cordero.[8]

Also in 2023, Deloitte, in collaboration with the Asociación HealthTech México (AHMX), released the report "Panorama de las Healthtechs en México." The report highlights the role of over 80 healthtech companies, including Diagnostikare, in transforming Mexican healthcare. It categorizes these companies into 17 technological solutions and projects their impact on equitable access and scientific advancement in Latin America by 2030.[9]

Awards and recognition[edit]

In 2022, Diagnostikare was recognized as a finalist in the Mass Challenge zero-equity acceleration program for startups in Latin America.[10] Additionally, the company has been consistently listed among the 'Top 100 PRO Startups' ('Las 100 PRO by Google Cloud') by PRO Network for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023.[11] Diagnostikare also received the UCSF Digital Health Award for Employer Prevention and Wellness in the Rising Star Category at HLTH 2022 in Las Vegas.[12] Furthermore, Diagnostikare was listed as one of the 2023 Latin America Health Tech 50 by Holon IQ.[13]

In April 2024, Diagnostikare was listed in the 'Health Innovation & Technology in Latin America & the Caribbean: Market Landscape and Compendium of Companies', a report produced by IDB Lab and Holon IQ. This inclusion reflects the company's involvement in the health technology sector of the region.[14]

Also in 2024, Diagnostikare was included in the World's Best Digital Health Companies by Newsweek and Statista. This inaugural ranking included 400 companies from 35 countries across seven industry segments such as diagnostics, health records, medical management, prevention and telehealth. The ranking was based on financial performance, website and app traffic data, and market impact.[15]
